Allegan General Offers 5K Training Program
Have you ever wanted to participate in a 5K run or walk, but didn’t know where to start? Want better health? Want inspiration and motivation? Take part in Allegan General Hospital’s 5K Training Program.
AGH’s Physical Rehabilitation staff will provide information and support to those who would like to learn how to properly train for a 5K. This training program is geared for both runners and walkers with the goal of getting you ready for the 6th Annual Strides for Health 5K held at AGH on Saturday, August 18, 2012.
This 10-week training program will consist of:
• Weekly group runs and walks.
• Educational sessions on nutrition, footwear, strength training and conditioning for both runners and walkers.
• A daily training schedule to help you prepare outside of the group runs and walks.
This program will kick-off with an Informational Meeting on Friday, June 8 at 5:30 p.m. in the Michigan Room, located on the lower level of the hospital. Weekly group walks and runs will begin on Wednesday, June 13 and will continue until race day.
The cost of this program is only $10. Plus if you attend at least 70% of the group runs or walks, the $10 will be applied to your Strides for Health 5K entry fee.
